Korea Exchange said Chair Jeong Eun-bo departed for Istanbul, Türkiye, on the 20th to attend the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) annual meeting and board of directors meeting.
About 80 exchanges worldwide will attend the meeting. The agenda includes 24-hour trading, T+1 settlement, in which stock sale proceeds are settled on the next business day, the status of global initial public offerings (IPO), artificial intelligence (AI), and tokenized securities.
The exchange said Jeong, as a WFE board member representing the Asia-Pacific region, will present strategic directions for traditional financial product exchanges to respond to changes in global capital markets.
It also said Jeong plans to engage in active networking by sharing pressing issues in each country's capital markets through exchanges with heads of major global exchanges and seeking cooperative projects among exchanges.
