NH Nonghyup Card said on the 16th it launched a mobile card that can be used without issuing a physical card.
The mobile card is handled entirely in a mobile environment from issuance to payment, eliminating the steps of issuing and receiving a physical card and concerns about card loss. With the launch, the company strengthened identity verification for non-face-to-face card applications and imposed a temporary restriction on transaction at cash-like merchants after mobile card issuance to guard against fraudulent sign-ups and use.
Issuance is available with a mobile phone under the user's name through NH Pay and the NH Nonghyup Card mobile web. Users can also access transit card functions through apps that provide mobile transit cards (NH Pay, Samsung Pay, Mobile T-money, etc.).
Payments with the mobile card are supported not only on NH Pay but also on simple payment services such as Samsung, Naver, Kakao, and Toss Pay, supporting convenient card use for customers.
Currently, three mobile card products are available: "zgm.the pay," which offers discounts at domestic and overseas merchants without a prior month's spending requirement; "zgm.streaming," which gives a 50% discount on OTT plans such as Netflix; and "Olbareun FLEX," which offers a 50% discount at Starbucks. Mobile card benefits are the same as those of physical cards. In addition, mobile cards have the advantage of relatively low annual fees because the basic annual fee is waived.
An NH Nonghyup Card official said, "We launched a mobile card that is convenient and even has low annual fees, all without a physical card," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide safe and convenient card services."
