Samsung Card said on the 14th that it launched the "Bunjang Samsung Card" in partnership with Bunjang, a leading secondhand marketplace in Korea.
The "Bunjang Samsung Card" is an affinity card that provides card benefits as "Bunjang Points," which can be used for secondhand transactions on Bunjang.
1 Bunjang Point is worth 1 won and can be used to pay part or all of a product price when purchasing on Bunjang. The "Bunjang Samsung Card" accrues up to 3% of spending on Bunjang as Bunjang Points.
It accrues 1% of spending at domestic and overseas merchants as a base, and adds another 2% for payments on Bunjang, for a maximum of 3%. The additional 2% accrual benefit is provided up to 40,000 points per month, depending on the previous month's performance. To mark the launch of the co-branded credit card, Samsung Card and Bunjang are also running promotions such as additional Bunjang Point accrual and interest-free installments.
During the promotion period, when paying for products on Bunjang, an extra 2% promotional benefit is added to raise the accrual rate to a maximum of 5%. The increased accrual benefit is provided up to 70,000 points per month, depending on the previous month's performance.
In addition, when paying 500,000 won or more for a "Bunjang Care" product—a service in which a professional inspection team checks authenticity and functionality—12-month interest-free installments are also offered.
Details on card benefits, previous month's performance, and promotions are available on the websites and apps of Samsung Card and Bunjang, and the annual fee is 20,000 won for both domestic-only and international (Visa) versions.
A Samsung Card official said, "For the first time in the card industry, we launched a co-branded credit card with a major secondhand platform," and added, "Samsung Card and Bunjang will continue various collaborations in the future."
