NH Amundi Asset Management has launched the "Growth-led Korea" fund, which invests in Korea's new growth industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) and clean energy.
NH Amundi Asset Management held a press briefing at the Korea Financial Investment Association in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 14th and said, "Korea is entering a major transition phase with three pillars—AI transition, capital market reform, and green transition—and we will actively invest in this trend," explaining as above.
The fund invests in industry groups expected to benefit from the three major transitions, including AI semiconductors and infrastructure, defense, shipbuilding, energy, and industries related to the advancement of the capital market, amid the government's KOSPI 5000 vision and the full-fledged start of capital market institutional reforms.
Within each industry group, it selects and concentrates investment in top-preferred stocks by sector that have global competitiveness and growth potential.
Kil Jeong-seop, CEO of NH Amundi Asset Management, said, "The government is strongly driving the leap of Korea's capital market by presenting the KOSPI 5000 era as a national vision," and added, "Amid this tide of change, we have prepared a product that discovers future growth engines of Korea's economy and invests in corporations expected to benefit from government policies."
He added, "NongHyup Mutual Finance, NH NongHyup Bank, and NH Investment & Securities have decided to make a total seed money investment of 25 billion won in the Growth-led Korea fund," noting that this is "a statement of intent to undertake responsible management by injecting the group's affiliate funds directly."
Park Jin-ho, head of equity investment, said, "With the new government's deregulation and infrastructure expansion policies improving the environment for corporate growth, we expect to provide long-term growth momentum to Korean industries that play a key role in global supply chains."
