Kakao Pay Securities said on the 14th that it held an awards ceremony for the "1st AI Hackathon" at its office in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, selecting and awarding outstanding ideas.
4월, Kakao Pay Securities held the "1st AI Hackathon" for employees at the Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The aim was to help in-house members become familiar with artificial intelligence (AI) and actively use AI for business and service innovation.
Held under the theme "With AI and by AI, better customer experience and more efficient work," the AI hackathon drew voluntary participation from 99 people across 29 teams, spanning not only developer roles but also nondevelopment departments such as legal, human resources, and corporate planning. Participants formed teams of up to four or competed individually, planned their ideas, and presented results implemented over 10 hours.
At the awards ceremony, Team "Foking," which implemented automated ad review, took first place. The automation of the complex ad review process using AI earned high marks. Second place went to Team "Ancamilo," which implemented features to improve web accessibility for users with low vision, and third place went to Team "Jeongmal Joheun Gongsi Saenghwal," which automatically filters key disclosures by analyzing disclosure data. Top winners received prizes including the latest MacBook, iPhone, and Galaxy Fold.
Kakao Pay Securities plans to use this event as a springboard to foster an organizational culture where AI naturally permeates not only work efficiency but also the overall planning and development of user services. It is also conducting follow-up work to ensure that the outputs realized through the hackathon lead to enhanced services and greater internal work efficiency.
Lee Hyeong-ju, head of the AI Service Center at Kakao Pay Securities, said, "This hackathon produced many ideas that earned practical consensus as 'really useful for everyday work,'" adding, "The most meaningful aspect was that developers and nondevelopers teamed up, gained positive experience with a convergent perspective on problems, and adopted practical solutions using AI."
