Major funds of IGIS Asset Management maintained the top grade in the global ESG (environment, social and governance) assessment. Analysts said the long-accumulated ESG operating know-how is translating into stable performance.
According to the financial investment industry on 14th, four funds of IGIS Asset Management that operate Autoway Tower, Twin Tree Tower, Signature Tower and Centerfield won the top grade of "5 Star" in the 2025 GRESB assessment.
GRESB is a globally authoritative ESG benchmark that evaluates the entire spectrum of environment, social and governance. The rating is determined on a relative basis, and only the top 20% receive "5 Star." As of last year, about 2,200 real estate management firms and assets worldwide are participating. Recently, global institutional investors have been using GRESB's results as a key criterion for real estate investment decisions.
In particular, the fund operating Autoway Tower in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul earned 5 Star for the eighth consecutive year, demonstrating long-term ESG management results. It is assessed that systematically applying eco-friendly strategies across all phases—design, construction and operation—proved effective. Autoway Tower has established itself as a leading example of a domestic ESG office, focusing on improving energy efficiency and reducing water use.
The other three funds are also maintaining stable ESG results, keeping 5 Star for three straight years since 2023. Centerfield created extensive green space at ground level to restore the urban ecosystem and introduced ice thermal storage and geothermal systems to sharply cut heating and cooling energy use. Signature Tower minimizes energy loss with a high-insulation curtain wall system and achieves resource circulation with a rainwater recycling system.
Twin Tree Tower features a curved exterior design. It effectively blocks solar radiation heat while allowing natural light deep into the interior to save lighting energy. Equipped with rooftop solar power facilities and a smart energy management system, it is continuously reducing carbon emissions.
These results stem from a systematic eco-friendly asset management strategy. For each operating asset, an energy use monitoring system has been established, and the replacement of LED lighting and the introduction of high-efficiency equipment are being carried out on an ongoing basis. The adoption of renewable energy is also being expanded, including efficient management of water resources through water-saving sanitary fixtures and gray water systems.
The company is also delivering results in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a global green certification. Currently, five assets—Autoway Tower, Taepyeongno Building, Signature Tower, Twin Tree Tower and Namsan Sowol Tower—hold LEED's highest grade, Platinum.
One Grove, a newly developed asset, earned Silver in the LEED "Core and Shell" category, while Corner 136 and Factorial Seongsu received Gold. Yeouido Saewoo Building, the headquarters of IGIS Asset Management, also received Gold in the LEED "Interior Design and Construction (ID+C)" category.
Meanwhile, IGIS Asset Management is expanding its sustainability activities to include creating urban forests and conserving biodiversity. In partnership with Jeju Province, it is creating urban forests in Sarabong Park and Ara-dong Advanced Park, and is also participating in climate change response projects such as supporting the operation of the Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault and creating mangrove forests in Tanzania.
