Global asset manager Franklin Templeton said on the 10th that it acquired Apera Asset Management, a European private credit manager.
As of the end of 4th, Apera Asset Management is a manager with approximately €5 billion in assets under management (AUM). It provides senior collateral-based private capital solutions to portfolio corporations of private equity funds in Western Europe.
With this acquisition, Franklin Templeton's global alternative credit assets under management exceeded $90 billion. The total alternative investment assets under management are about $270 billion.
Apera has come to complement Franklin Templeton's existing global alternative credit portfolio. Together with its U.S. subsidiary Benefit Street Partners (BSP) and European subsidiary Alcentra, it is expected to strengthen its management capabilities in private credit.
