Meritz Securities said on the 2nd that it will operate its overseas stocks, overseas derivatives, and CFD desks 24 hours a day during the Chuseok holiday to ensure customers' convenient access to overseas market transactions.
Countries where transactions are possible during the Chuseok holiday include the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Europe, and 18 countries in total. However, transactions are not possible on market holidays during the break. China's stock market is closed from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8 for the National Day holiday, and Hong Kong's market will also close on Oct. 1 and Oct. 7.
Meritz Securities customers can, as before, use the home and mobile trading systems (HTS and MTS) and landline to conduct overseas stock and derivatives transactions and contracts for difference (CFDs).
Meritz Securities is running a promotion through the end of Dec. 2026 that offers free domestic and U.S. stock transactions and dollar exchanges. Both new and existing customers can receive various benefits, including free fees and low margin loan rates, by transacting through the Super365 remote comprehensive investment account without a separate application.
In addition, through Oct. 31, it also launched an event offering fractional U.S. stocks to a total of 1,100 customers selected by lottery who apply for the overseas stock savings program.
A Meritz Securities official said, "We will operate a 24-hour overseas stock transaction desk during the Chuseok holiday to create the optimal transaction environment so that customers can invest without inconvenience."
