Korea's toy corporations SONOKONG said on the 26th that it successfully wrapped up the "Kaiju No. 8 pop-up store," held in partnership with ANIPLUS, a company specializing in animation content.
Linked to the currently airing season 2 of the animation, the pop-up store ran from 19th to 25th on the second floor of Hongdae AK Plaza.
At the venue, about 170 types of official licensed goods, including figures, keyrings, acrylic stands and photo cards, were sold, and a variety of visit perks were offered for purchasing customers.
During the event, a wide range of character goods, including the major character "Narumi Gen," received strong responses.
SONOKONG noted that during the pop-up store held when season 1 aired 4th, Kaiju No. 8 drew strong interest from domestic fans, and that the season 2 pop-up store likewise saw enthusiastic reactions from fans. In particular, it emphasized that beyond simple merchandise sales, it contributed to expanding the fandom and boosting brand value by offering content that let visitors experience the work's universe firsthand and by creating spaces for fan communication.
A SONOKONG official said, "The success of the Kaiju No. 8 pop-up store is an important starting point for SONOKONG's full-scale rollout of its kidult and goods business," adding, "We will continue to expand our business in experiential content centered on fan experiences and a variety of intellectual property (IP) products."
