The Korea Financial Investment Association said on the 26th that it held a meeting at the Yeouido KOFIA Center in Seoul with the leadership of the Japan Investment Trusts Association (KITA) to strengthen cooperation between the South Korean and Japanese capital markets.
The meeting was organized to explore ways of cooperation to promote the mutual development of the two countries' capital markets. Seo Yu-seok, president of the Korea Financial Investment Association, and Matsushita Koichi, president of JITA, attended.
The two organizations agreed to maintain their cooperative relationship going forward and to continue developing asset management products for the development of both countries' economies and the expansion of household assets, as well as exchanges of information and personnel.
Seo said, "South Korea and Japan not only share geographic proximity but also have many commonalities in the process of capital market development, so the potential for complementary cooperation is very high," adding, "In particular, if we combine Japan's rich experience with Korea's innovation capacity in the asset management industry, we could create new growth engines in the Asian financial market."
