Pearl Abyss, listed on the Kosdaq, saw its share price rise sharply early on the 25th. Buying appears to have surged on news that the new title "Crimson Desert" will get an official release for the first time in seven years.
As of 9:05 a.m. that day, Pearl Abyss was trading at 36,600 won, up 2,250 won (6.55%) from the previous trading day.
Pearl Abyss said at Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) new title event "State of Play," held the day before, that it plans to release "Crimson Desert" on Mar. 19 next year.
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set on the vast continent of Pywel, depicting the journey of protagonist Cliff and the Grey Mane companions. Pearl Abyss's in-house game engine, the "Blackspace Engine," was used.
Expectations for improved earnings appear to have grown on news that Crimson Desert, whose release had been delayed, will be unveiled on a large scale after seven years.
Preorders are available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Apple Mac. In addition to the digital package, a physical package is also available through region-specific retailers.
