Vice Chairman Yoon Jong-ha of MBK Partners said he would prepare relief measures so that Lotte Card solicitors do not suffer a blow to their livelihoods. Because Lotte Card is highly likely to face heavy penalties such as a business suspension due to the hacking incident, a decline in solicitors' revenue is also expected to be unavoidable.
Lee Jeong-heon of the Democratic Party of Korea said at a Science. ICT. Broadcasting. and Communications Committee hearing at the National Assembly on the morning of the 24th, "There is a high possibility that heavy penalties will be imposed on Lotte Card, and there are serious concerns that card solicitors could be hit directly in their livelihoods."
Vice Chairman Yoon said, "If such a situation occurs, we will actively seek relief measures."
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 14th last month, Lotte Card suffered a leak of internal files due to hacking. The scale of the leak was about 200GB (gigabytes), and the number of people affected was 2.97 million. In this hack, some members' resident registration numbers, CVC (three-digit number on the back of the card), and internal identification numbers were leaked.
