On the 17th, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) is falling during trading hours on selling by foreign and institutional investors.
As of 11:19 a.m. that day, the KOSPI was trading at 3,416.28, down 33.34 points (0.97%) from the previous day. In the main board, foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 283.3 billion won and 66.0 billion won, respectively, while only individuals were buying a net 331.4 billion won.
Large-cap stocks are weak. SK hynix is down 3.45%, and Samsung Electronics and its preferred share Samsung Electronics (preferred) are down 1.89% and 2.19%, respectively. Hanwha Aerospace (-0.96%), Samsung Biologics (-0.68%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-0.40%) are also declining. In contrast, LG Energy Solution (1.29%) and KB Financial Group (0.17%) are rising.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was trading at 846.26, down 5.58 points (0.66%) from the previous day. On the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions were also selling 132.2 billion won and 83.3 billion won, respectively. Only individuals net bought 235.1 billion won.
Among top KOSDAQ market-cap stocks, Alteogen, Peptron, PharmaResearch, Rainbow Robotics, and LigaChem Biosciences are down around 1%. ABL Bio (-0.99%) and Sam Chun Dang Pharm (-0.69%) are also slightly lower, while Ecopro (1.32%), ECOPRO BM (0.90%), and HLB (0.13%) edged up.
In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate was trading at 1,380.6 won per $1 at the same time, up 1.1 won from the previous transaction day.
