Samsung Securities said on the 15th that the "2025 Global Alternative Investment Forum," held for institutional investors and individual clients, wrapped up successfully on the 12th.
The event was held on the 12th at the Shilla Hotel Yeongbingwan, with global asset managers and clients in attendance.
The event had been an annual gathering held for more than a decade exclusively for institutional investors. However, reflecting strong interest in the alternative investment market among retail clients, especially the ultra-high-net-worth, a separate session for individual clients was held for the first time this year.
Positioned as an introduction to global alternative investments, the event drew about 300 attendees, signaling strong interest. The alternative investment market is largely raised in private offerings and consists of private equity, private credit, and real assets.
This forum invited leading global private alternative managers, including Blackstone, KKR, Apollo, and Neuberger Berman, and proceeded in a relay lecture format. It covered: ▲ private equity investment strategies, ▲ an introduction to and outlook for private credit, ▲ real estate market recovery and investment opportunities, and ▲ resilient co-investing amid volatility.
In the first half of this year, Samsung Securities, through an exclusive partnership with Blackstone, became the first in Korea to raise $110 million from retail clients for a Blackstone private alternative fund. In addition to Blackstone, Samsung Securities has direct partnerships with leading private investment managers such as Ares, EQT, Schroders, Golub, and Coller to supply exclusive products.
