As the popularity of the Netflix animation "K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedehun)" continues, theme stocks are once again surging.
As of 9:09 a.m. on the 12th, Nongshim was trading at 555,000 won, up 67,000 won (13.73%) from the previous session. Nongshim Holdings was also up 6.06%, and Pulmuone was up 4.76%.
Nongshim sold out 1,000 limited-edition Shin Ramyun sets in less than two minutes after sales began last month through a collaboration with Kedehun. It now plans a second pre-order and to launch Shin Ramyun products using Kedehun characters in the United States.
As a scene in Kedehun where a character eats an entire roll of gimbap drew interest from foreigners, Pulmuone, which sells "kkoma gimbap," has also been linked as a theme stock. Last month, when the Kedehun craze hit, Pulmuone's share price rose to 17,000 won.
