NongHyup Bank announced that it held an opening ceremony for its London branch in London, England, on the 5th (local time).
NongHyup Bank opened an office in London in 2021 while preparing to establish a branch, and it obtained the establishment approval in July of this year and began operations on the 15th of the same month. Through the London branch, its first store in the European region, NongHyup Bank plans to establish a foothold for expanding its global corporate finance (IB) in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
Additionally, it plans to provide related services not only to Korean corporations that have entered Europe but also to local corporations seeking consolidation with Asia. The event was attended by approximately 130 people, including President Kang Tae-young, Deputy Ambassador to the UK Han Seung-ho, and Alastair King, the mayor of the London Financial District.
At the opening ceremony, President Kang said, "We will grow the London branch into a strategic hub for the leap forward of NongHyup Bank's global IB business."
