Meritz Securities said on the 3rd that it has launched 8 types of equity-linked securities (ELS) exclusively for its mobile trading system (MTS).
The representative product, "Meritz Super ELS No. 87," pays up to 10.40% annual revenue if conditions are met. It has set the common stocks of Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor as the underlying assets.
The term is 3 years, and it is a step-down structure that provides opportunities for early redemption every 6 months. Even if early redemption does not occur, if the closing prices of each underlying asset are all above the maturity redemption barrier on the maturity evaluation date, or if none of the underlying assets have fallen below the knock-in barrier of 45% at any point during the term, the total interest and principal for the 3 years can be received.
However, if the closing price of the underlying assets is below the maturity redemption barrier on the maturity evaluation date, and if any underlying asset has fallen below the knock-in barrier during the investment period, a loss of principal may occur. Full loss is also possible.
Meritz Securities has also released 3 types of stock-type ELS with the underlying assets being U.S. stocks Palantir and Tesla, as well as 4 types of index-type ELS that use the KOSPI 200 index, Nikkei 225 index, Standard and Poor's (S&P) 500 index, and Euro Stoxx 50 index as underlying assets.
The structures are also varied, including monthly payout products that pay scheduled revenue and lizard-type products that offer additional early redemption opportunities. The minimum investment amount for these 8 types of ELS is 100,000 won, and the subscription deadline is until noon on the 12th.
Meritz Securities is also running an event that offers prizes to ELS trading customers. The event period is until Nov. 13.
During the event period, customers will receive gift certificates worth up to 100,000 won based on the accumulated ELS subscription amount. Additionally, customers who subscribe for over 50 million won will have an extra chance to win an "iPad Air 13" in a drawing. Regardless of the amount, those who register for online ELS for the first time will receive a gifticon for a Starbucks Americano.
