Kakao Pay announced on the 25th that it will significantly enhance the convenience of using people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons.
Users who applied for consumption coupons using Kakao Pay money will be able to use the consumption coupons on their mobile devices without a physical card, and when using the 'Kakao Pay Travelog Check Card', the people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons will automatically link to the payment process. Users without this card can enjoy the same benefits when applying for a new one.
With this integration, the use of people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons applied for with Kakao Pay money has become possible not only at existing Kakao Pay, Samsung Pay, and Zero Pay merchant locations, but also at all offline stores nationwide where credit card payments are accepted, increasing users' payment convenience.
This structure allows users who applied for consumption coupons using Kakao Pay money, regardless of the payment method—whether through mobile easy payment (barcode, QR) or the Kakao Pay Travelog Check Card—to use the consumption coupons first and then pay with Kakao Pay money, enabling them to focus on payment in the most convenient way without worrying about their balance.
Since the 21st of last month, Kakao Pay has been providing a service that allows all citizens to apply for and use people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons within KakaoTalk, which everyone uses, without the need to install a separate app. Additionally, when applying with Kakao Pay money, they are also provided with basic point benefits that can be accumulated when paying with Kakao Pay money at offline stores, as well as additional benefits specifically for the people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons.
Kakao Pay stated, "We proceeded with this integration to provide an innovative experience that continues the convenience of 'Pay Money' for consumption coupons applied for through easy payment, extending to physical cards," adding, "Based on Kakao Pay's differentiated strengths, we will do our best to ensure that all citizens can conveniently use consumption coupons anywhere and participate in people's livelihood recovery."
