Kakao Pay announced on the 12th that it has introduced a feature that allows users to check and use offline store exchange vouchers received through 'KakaoTalk Gift Giving' on the payment screen.
In addition to making it more convenient to use 'Gift Giving' by reducing the steps to find or pay additional amounts for exchanged gifts, Kakao Pay has linked mobile exchange vouchers as a payment method following Kakao Pay money (prepaid funds), credit and debit cards, thereby expanding the convenience and benefits of offline payments with Kakao Pay.
Users can enjoy simple payments using existing payment methods and gift exchange vouchers from over 640 brands, as well as take advantage of various benefits such as the iconic discount programs of Kakao Pay like Good Deal and Kko.Kko.Pay, Kakao Pay point accumulation, and automatic membership accumulation all in one Kakao Pay app without the need to switch apps.
The new feature can be accessed by selecting 'Gifts Received via KakaoTalk' among the payment methods in the gift box at the forefront of the payment tab in the latest version of the Kakao Pay app and in the KakaoTalk Kakao Pay home. After going through the initial personal information consent procedure, users can check all offline store exchange vouchers received via KakaoTalk Gift Giving in bulk. It can be used even if it is not a Kakao Pay payment location, and if it is a Kakao Pay payment location, additional amounts can be paid without switching apps. The latest version of Kakao Pay and KakaoTalk will be sequentially applied to some users starting from the 11th.
Kakao Pay noted, "We have established a service to ensure that users can experience the smooth payments and benefits of Kakao Pay even when using gift exchange vouchers offline," adding, "We aim to evolve into the most convenient and widely used offline payment service by breaking down the boundaries between payment methods and benefits."
