DI Dongil's subsidiary, Dongil C&F, announced on 1st that it has obtained flame retardant material certification (FM4910) and flame retardant duct certification (FM4922) from the certification agency 'FM Approvals.'
FM4910 is a certification awarded to flame retardant materials that have low flame spread and low density of combustion gases in the event of a fire. Dongil C&F passed this certification using its self-developed flame-retardant FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) material.
FM4922 is a certification awarded to duct systems that can suppress flames and smoke spread while maintaining structural integrity during a fire. To obtain this certification, the duct systems must meet essential fire safety standards required in advanced manufacturing industries such as chemicals, electronics, and energy.
FM Approvals is an American institute founded in 1886 for fire prevention and hydraulic device testing, and it has been issuing fire-related certifications since 1916. Insurance companies worldwide utilize FM Approvals' certifications as quality standards for fire safety.
Dongil C&F produces and supplies facilities for the treatment of fine dust and harmful gases generated in advanced industrial factories such as semiconductors and displays.
A representative from DI Dongil said, 'With this FM certification, Dongil C&F is now able to supply high-performance flame-retardant facilities not only in the existing semiconductor and display sectors but also in various industries such as chemicals, steel, secondary batteries, and power plants.'
