Saemaul Geumgo announced on the 30th that it has donated 100 million won to the Senior Medical Sharing Foundation to support knee surgery expenses for the elderly in vulnerable groups.
This donation is part of the 'Green MG Walkable Day' campaign held in May to commemorate the founding anniversary of Saemaul Geumgo and the Day of Regional Coexistence.
The 'Green MG Walkable Day' campaign is a signature ESG management practice and sharing campaign of Saemaul Geumgo, which has been held for the fifth consecutive year from 2021 to this year.
This year's campaign exceeded its target of 1 billion steps, achieving a total of 1.54 billion steps. The funds raised will be used to support knee surgery expenses for 62 elderly people in vulnerable groups to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of Saemaul Geumgo.
Kim In, the chairman of Saemaul Geumgo Central Association, noted, 'Thank you for the great interest shown in the "Green MG Walkable Day" campaign throughout May,' and stated, 'In the future, Saemaul Geumgo and the Saemaul Geumgo Central Association will strive to become a cooperative focused on regions and the underprivileged based on Saemaul Geumgo's own ESG management value system, including green, social, and human aspects.'
