Credit card companies will hold an event where all citizens can receive an additional maximum of 50,000 won if they use the 'living recovery consumption coupon' by the end of August.
According to the financial industry on the 28th, this event, jointly conducted by credit card companies, will utilize a budget of 2.5 billion won. If individuals spend all the consumption coupons received through credit card companies by August 31, they will be automatically entered into the event without a separate application. A total of 310,000 people will win. 10,000 people will receive additional consumption coupons worth 50,000 won, 100,000 will receive 10,000 won, and 200,000 will receive 5,000 won.
The additional coupons can only be used at small business merchant stores with annual sales of 3 billion won or less and local love gift certificate merchant stores, just like the existing consumption coupons. They cannot be used at large supermarkets, department stores, online shopping malls, or franchise direct stores.
The government has asked credit card companies to refrain from excessive competition regarding consumption coupons. Accordingly, this additional consumption coupon distribution event was held without any separate advertising or promotion.
Meanwhile, the application period for the first consumption coupon is until September 12. Depending on individual income levels, amounts ranging from 150,000 won to a maximum of 400,000 won will be distributed. According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, 72% of all eligible recipients (50,707,067 people) have completed their applications over five days starting from the first day of the consumption coupon application on the 21st.
The second consumption coupon, which provides an additional 100,000 won to 90% of citizens, excluding the top 10%, will begin on September 22. Both the first and second consumption coupons can be used by November 30.
