Hyundai Card announced on the 25th that it recorded a net profit of 165.5 billion won in the first half of 2025. This figure represents a 1.0% increase compared to the same period last year, which Hyundai Card attributed to an increase in credit sales and an expansion in membership.
According to Hyundai Card, the operating revenue was 2.1255 trillion won, an 11.1% increase compared to the same period last year, and the operating profit was 214.5 billion won, up 2.3%. The pre-tax profit was 214.2 billion won, a 4.9% increase. The total handling amount in the first half was 93.2897 trillion won, up 6.3%, and among this, credit sales expanded by 6.8% to 86.6506 trillion won compared to the same period last year.
As for the member count based on personal members, Hyundai Card had 12.5 million members, an increase of 510,000 (4.3%) compared to the same period last year. The competitiveness of products such as premium, PLCC, and overseas payment services is interpreted to have supported the performance. The overseas spending amount through Apple Pay also grew by 10.3% to $1.71829 billion compared to the previous year.
The arrears rate also maintained a favorable trend. As of the end of June, the actual arrears rate was 1.19%, an increase of 0.12 percentage points compared to the previous year, while the general arrears rate rose by 0.13 percentage points to 0.84%. However, it dropped from the previous quarter (0.90%), maintaining a management stance.
Hyundai Card noted that it continues to maintain performance stability through strengthening product competitiveness, enhancing risk management, and focusing on soundness in management.
