Naver Pay (Npay) announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with KONA I, a company specializing in local love gift certificates, to provide Gyeonggi local currency and Gimpo Pay services.
Through this agreement, users can register 28 types of Gyeonggi local currency (excluding Siheung and Seongnam) and Gimpo Pay as payment methods (QR payment and Samsung Pay) in Npay, allowing them to easily use them at local love gift certificate merchants by region. Users can register physical local currency cards they possess or enter mobile card numbers to register as a payment method in Npay.
In particular, if consumers have applied for the consumer coupon for recovery of livelihood using Gyeonggi local currency and Gimpo Pay, they can register Gyeonggi local currency as a payment method in Npay to use the livelihood recovery consumer coupon, thus receiving the point accumulation benefit that is generally provided when using Npay.
The two companies plan to enhance the service to allow users to recharge each local love gift certificate with Naver Pay money within the Npay app by August. They will also promote the expansion of Npay integration using local love gift certificates from regions other than Gyeonggi Province, where KONA I is operating, and collaborate on joint marketing to revitalize local love gift certificate services.
Lee Hyang-cheol, the lead responsible leader, noted, 'Npay has been working to revitalize the local economy through payment integration with various local love gift certificates, totaling 104, including Gyeonggi local currency, Gimpo Pay, Daegu local currency "Daegu-ro Pay," Jeju local currency "Tamna Money," and Busan local currency "Dongbaekjeon."' He added, 'In the future, we will strive to make more local love gift certificates active through collaboration with KONA I.'
