That day, a media outlet reported that the special prosecutor team sent prosecutors and investigators to search and seize the headquarters of Samil Accounting Corporation in Yongsan District, Seoul. The search and seizure was reportedly conducted to clarify allegations regarding the Cambodian economic cooperation fund, which the Unification Church allegedly solicited through Jeon Seong-bae, known as 'GunJin Mage.' The media outlet stated that Samil Accounting Corporation became the target of the search because it was responsible for auditing the Unification Church.
In response, Samil PwC noted, "The report that Samil Accounting Corporation was responsible for auditing the Unification Church is not true, and while we were offered to undertake work related to Cambodia's official development assistance project, we determined that the likelihood of realization was low and did not accept it."
