Kakao Pay announced on the 23rd that it has unveiled a limited edition 'Kakao Pay Travel Log Check Card' in celebration of the summer vacation season.
The newly launched limited edition 3rd version of the Kakao Pay Travel Log Check Card, targeting the summer vacation season, is themed around domestic travel and features two designs: the 'Harbang Lion' transformed into the symbol of Jeju Island, the Dolharubang, and the 'Panda Chunsikie' in a relaxing bamboo forest. Each design is available in a limited quantity of 5,000 cards, totaling 10,000.
The Kakao Pay Travel Log Check Card, introduced in partnership with Hana Card, features a structure where payments are made in foreign currencies overseas with Hana Money and in Korea with Kakao Pay Money, highlighting its diverse domestic and international benefits in one card. The card offers strong overseas benefits, including free currency exchange (100% exchange rate advantage), waivers on overseas usage fees, and ATM withdrawal fees. Domestically, it provides various benefits such as a 1% basic accumulation of Kakao Pay Points when paying with Kakao Pay Money and up to 10% accumulation in specific industries, garnering great responses from users.
Additionally, because it is linked to Kakao Pay Money, users can freely connect all their existing bank accounts without the need to open a separate dedicated account, maximizing user convenience, which is cited as one of the reasons for its popularity.
This popularity has exploded with each limited edition design launch. The previously released limited edition 1st version sold out 10,000 cards in just four days, while the 2nd version sold out in nine days. Thanks to this popularity, the cumulative issuance of Kakao Pay Travel Log Check Cards has recently surpassed 200,000, solidifying its position in the market.
Kakao Pay noted, "We planned a limited edition series that satisfies both collectible value and travel sentiment in line with the travel season," adding, "We will continue our efforts to ensure users can enjoy convenient payment experiences and benefits wherever they are, domestically and internationally."
