According to the insurance industry on the 21st, from the 16th until 9 a.m. on this day, there were 3,131 vehicles reported with flooding damage to 12 non-life insurance companies selling auto insurance. The estimated loss was 29.6 billion won.
This figure surpasses the damage from Typhoon 'Kanuun' and heavy rain in June to August 2023 (2,395 vehicles, 17.5 billion won). It is similar in scale to the damage incurred during the three months of heavy rain last year (5,676 vehicles, 42.1 billion won).
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as of 9 p.m. the previous day, there were 18 fatalities and 9 missing persons due to extreme rainfall that has fallen nationwide since the 16th. The number of residents who found refuge from this heavy rain damage was recorded at 9,887 households and 14,166 individuals across 15 cities and provinces. As of 6 p.m. the previous day, damage to public facilities due to road flooding, landslides, and the collapse of river facilities was 1,999 cases, while damage to private properties, including buildings and agricultural land flooding, was 2,238 cases.
