Korea Securities Depository reported on the 17th that the amount of bond exercise related to stocks in the first half of this year was 1.98 trillion won, which is a 7% decrease from the second half of last year. During the same period, the number of exercises increased by 23.8% to 1,587 cases.
Bonds related to stocks refer to debentures such as convertible bonds (CB), exchangeable bonds (EB), and bonds with warrants (BW) that can be converted or exchanged into the issuer's stocks or stocks of another company guaranteed by the issuer under certain conditions established at the time of issuance.
By type, the exercise amount shows that CB amounted to 1.41 trillion won, which is a 5.6% decrease from the previous half year. EB also decreased by 11.9% to 506.3 billion won compared to the previous half year. BW increased by 6.5% from 57.8 billion won in the second half of last year to 61.6 billion won in the first half of this year.
