Toss announced on the 15th that the overseas offline payment amount of Toss Pay in the first half of the year has grown fourfold compared to the same period last year.
Toss Pay is currently available in 55 countries, and transactions are made in real-time local currency from accounts linked to Toss Pay without currency exchange. By country, the proportion of payment amount from China was the highest, followed by Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
The company analyzed that the steady increase in overseas travelers and the renovation of the app's "overseas travel home," which consolidated functions necessary for travel, contributed to the increase in transaction amounts. A Toss official emphasized, "The significant increase in overseas payment transaction amount in the first half of this year is the result of naturally consolidating various processes needed for travel within a single app."
