Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 8th that it will launch the 'Golden Time Comprehensive Surgery Insurance,' which pays out insurance benefits proportional to the duration of general anesthesia during surgery.
This product is a new offering that moves away from the existing coverage focused on diagnosis, hospitalization, and surgery, instead subdividing the duration of general anesthesia to determine insurance payouts. It was developed to be more understandable, taking into account that compensation for surgical fees based on the number of diseases or the complexity of the surgery is somewhat difficult to grasp.
It has a comprehensive structure that integrates coverage for both illnesses and injuries, and if the general anesthesia duration exceeds 3 hours, the insurance benefit increases for each additional hour. If both the collateral for general hospitals and tertiary hospitals are purchased, coverage of up to 100 million won per surgery can be obtained.
In addition, through the 'Insurance Premium Refund (100%, 50%)' clause, if no general anesthesia surgeries longer than 3 hours are received until maturity, the insured can receive a refund of the insurance premiums for the collateral related to general anesthesia surgeries according to the refund ratio (100%, 50%).
Another strength of this product is that it broadly covers not only general anesthesia and various surgical collaterals but also related medical expenses before and after treatments, including examinations, hospitalization, nursing care, rehabilitation, and major therapies.
The eligible age for enrollment ranges from 15 to a maximum of 90 years, and the insurance period can be chosen as 10, 15, or 20 years with renewal options, while the contract types include standard type (Type 1), accident-free refund 100% type (Type 2), and accident-free refund 50% type (Type 3).
