MERITZ Securities noted on the 4th that its branch-managed wrap account balance has surpassed 1 trillion won. As of the previous day, the branch-managed wrap account balance was 1 trillion 124 billion won, marking a 20.9% increase from the end of last year (837.1 billion won). During the same period, the number of accounts grew from 2,471 to 2,862, an increase of 15%.
A branch-managed wrap is a comprehensive asset management service where qualified investment managers at sales offices provide one-on-one customized asset management according to the client's investment preferences and objectives. There is an increasing trend in demand for branch-managed wraps, managed by investment professionals, in a volatile market.
MERITZ Securities emphasized its differentiation from other securities firms. Typically, the ratio of wrap accounts managed by the headquarters' management department or entrusted to other management firms or advisory firms is high. In contrast, MERITZ Securities is primarily promoting branch-managed wrap products.
MERITZ Securities has reported that customers using branch-managed wraps achieved satisfactory results, which have impacted the increase in balance and account numbers. MERITZ Securities explained that branch-managed wraps have relatively reasonable transaction costs compared to direct investments.
Since April, MERITZ Securities has been operating a differentiated brand, 'MVP (Meritz Valuable Product) wrap,' which is directly managed by top-performing investment professionals who have consistently delivered outstanding management results. Eight individuals have been selected, including Mun Pil-bok, the head of the Yeouido Leaders Center, Director General Park Hyun-kyu, and Director General Kwon Ra-woon, among others.
Currently, the wrap account balance of the MVP managers stands at approximately 600 billion won, accounting for more than 60% of the total balance in MERITZ Securities' branch-managed wraps. A representative from MERITZ Securities stated, "The MVP wrap is a specialized service managed by our capable investment professionals," adding, "The positive outlook for the stock market continues, and branch-managed wraps that can flexibly respond to increased market volatility may become a good investment alternative."
