MERITZ Securities declared on the 23rd that it has selected actress Shin Se-kyung as a model for its advertising campaign titled 'Zero commissions (0)'.
MERITZ Securities explained that it believes Shin Se-kyung's natural image in her daily life can introduce the 'Zero commissions' campaign more effectively.
MERITZ Securities plans to promote through various themed videos, such as vlogs and video calls, based on Shin Se-kyung's active communication with the public through her personal channels. Episodes titled 'Shin Se-kyung's Zero-log' and 'What Se-kyung tells you' will be released sequentially.
MERITZ Securities is applying the fee-free policy on all transaction fees, including commission for trading domestic and U.S. stocks and dollar exchange through the Super365 investment account exclusively for non-face-to-face transactions until the end of December 2026.
The number of Super365 accounts is also increasing rapidly. Before the event began, on Nov. 17 of last year, the figure was approximately 940 billion won, which has risen to 9.034 trillion won as of the 19th of this month, nearly a tenfold increase.
During the same period, the deposit assets in overseas stocks increased from 165 billion won to 5.1324 trillion won, approximately 30 times. This is interpreted as active use of Super365 accounts by overseas stock investors who faced significant commission burdens.
