NongHyup Card announced on the 17th that it has launched the 'Kongya Fresh Check Card,' a specialized card for revitalizing traditional markets and supporting small businesses.
Earlier, in March, NongHyup Card signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Korea Federation of Credit Finance to establish a practical support system for revitalizing small business stores and traditional markets.
With this intention, NongHyup Card introduced the 'Kongya Fresh Check Card.' It includes a benefit that allows users to earn 15% of their payment amount as points to encourage the use of traditional markets. This benefit is provided when using the card at registered traditional market merchants (based on the National Tax Service) and points can be accumulated up to a maximum of 10,000 points per month.
Additionally, without any previous month performance conditions, when used at domestic and overseas merchants, a basic accumulation benefit of 0.2% of the payment amount is offered in NH points, and if the previous month's spending reaches 300,000 won, a benefit of 0.3% accumulation in daily life areas is provided. Daily life areas include shopping (Hanaro Mart, Club, NongHyup Mall), convenience stores/miscellaneous (GS25, CU, Olive Young, Daiso), movies (CGV), coffee and bakery (Starbucks, Paris Baguette), and overseas (overseas one-time payment, duty-free shops).
An event to celebrate the launch will also take place. A limited edition sticker pack featuring the Kongya character, which can be used for card decoration, will be given to the first 100,000 customers who issue the card online. Furthermore, the 'Kongya Fresh Check Card' allows users to choose between two character designs, 'Onion Kongya' and 'Rice Ball Kongya,' and in the future, a more broadly selected Kongya character will be appointed as a 'NongHyup Card Ambassador' for promotional activities.
'Kongya Fresh Check Card' has no annual fee, and details regarding card issuance, benefits, events, and more can be checked on NongHyup Card's digital channels (official website, NH Pay) and at nationwide NongHyup sales offices.
A NongHyup Card official remarked, "We included exceptional benefits to revitalize the use of traditional markets and collaborated with Kongya Restaurants, which is very popular among the MZ generation," and added, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with local communities and lead in practicing win-win finance."
