Mirae Asset Securities announced on the 16th that it has introduced an AI-based identification document copy verification system at all its branches, becoming the first in the financial sector to do so.
This system is characterized by its ability to accurately identify even intricately forged fake identification documents, going beyond existing identification verification services. The AI can analyze the identification document images along with noise patterns, surrounding resolution, and light to ascertain the types of images such as copies, captures, and composites, making fraud detection possible.
The copy verification function applies to various identification documents, including general resident registration cards, driver's licenses, foreign identification cards, and national veteran registration cards.
Furthermore, it does not simply block transactions involving forged identification documents; it also analyzes the information in conjunction with the internal Fraud Detection System (FDS) to share with other financial institutions that attempt transactions using the same forged identification, potentially preventing secondary damage.
Mirae Asset Securities plans to expand the application of the AI-based identification document copy verification system to its mobile trading system (MTS) M-STOCK.
A spokesperson for Mirae Asset Securities said, "We will continue to actively protect customers' financial assets and prevent financial consumer damage, contributing to increasing trust in the financial sector."
