The Korea Exchange subsidiary Koscom noted on the 29th that it has been selected as the first MyData relay specialist institution designated by the Personal Information Protection Commission.
A relay specialist institution provides the necessary functions for personal information relay between information transmitters required to transmit data and MyData service providers, and oversees relevant technology and standardization.
Koscom plans to utilize its experience in relay services in the financial sector and its own cloud-based relay system to provide a safe and efficient information transmission system, starting with the communications sector.
Additionally, it plans to strengthen education and consulting services aimed at MyData service startup companies and small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to undertake related infrastructure projects.
Shin Kyung-ho, a managing director at Koscom, said, "We will do our best to fulfill our role as a facilitator in creating an innovative ecosystem for the data industry, not just as a simple relay agent."
