The Korea Federation of Banks announced on the 22nd that it held the '2nd Challenge! Golden Bell' event this year at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall in Seoul on the 21st to spread the 'BANKiT Senior Digital Finance Education' program and raise awareness of financial education.
The BANKiT Senior Digital Finance Education is a free financial education program that the Korea Federation of Banks has been 운영 중 since 2023 for seniors who have difficulties utilizing mobile banking.
As of April, a total of 14,674 participants aged 65 and older from 140 senior welfare organizations have taken part in the program. The program covers ▲ how to use mobile banking, such as remittances and non-face-to-face account openings ▲ practical financial tips, such as finding dormant accounts and comparing interest rates ▲ prevention and response methods for financial fraud targeting seniors.
Cho Yong-byoung, chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, said, "We will continue to expand tailored education and services for seniors in cooperation with banks," and noted, "We will take the lead in practicing inclusive finance so that everyone can enjoy convenience in a digital-centric financial environment without being excluded."
