Korea Investment & Securities said it launched the employee step donation campaign 'WE:walk' to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the 16th.
'WE:walk' will be held under the slogan 'With the Earth! walk together' until the 30th of this month. If employees reach the goal of 100 million steps, contributions will be made to support greenhouse gas reduction. The donations will be used to plant trees and plants that are effective in absorbing greenhouse gases.
This campaign was designed to encourage voluntary participation in health promotion and environmental protection among employees. By moving on foot instead of using internal combustion engine vehicles, it is expected to achieve a reduction of about 15 tons of carbon emissions based on the 100 million steps.
Korea Investment & Securities supported wheelchairs for children with disabilities who are unable to walk in 2021 and 2022, and last year donated trees for ecological restoration at the Jungnang Stream in Seoul. Kim Sung-hwan, president of Korea Investment & Securities, noted, "We will continue to fulfill our responsibilities as corporations through various social contribution activities in collaboration with the local community."
