Korea Investment Holdings subsidiary Korea Investment & Securities noted on the 15th that it recorded the highest annual revenue in three types of retirement pension default options (pre-designated management system) - high-risk, medium-risk, and low-risk - in the first quarter of this year (January to March).
According to the '2025 1st quarter retirement pension default option key status disclosure' announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Investment & Securities' 'default option actively managed investment type BF1' achieved an annual revenue of 22.72%, the highest performance among 41 operators and 315 products. This product has maintained the highest revenue among all securities firms' default options since the 1st quarter of 2024. Following that, the 'default option neutral investment type portfolio 2' recorded a revenue of 15.83%, ranking 2nd overall and 1st among medium-risk products.
Korea Investment & Securities also stood out in the low-risk product category. The 'default option stable investment type portfolio 2' topped the category with an annual revenue of 9.86%. Excluding ultra-low-risk products primarily composed of deposits, it effectively recorded the highest revenue in virtually all performance dividend types.
Korea Investment & Securities explained that the differentiated product composition has driven the revenue. All three products incorporate the 'Korea Investment MySuper Know-How' fund series. This fund is designed by Korea Investment Trust Management, tailored to fit South Korea based on Australia's representative default option model, 'MySuper'. The high-risk type incorporates the fund 100%, while the medium-risk type maintains a 70:30 ratio of stable to growth types. The low-risk type operates by incorporating 70% of the stable-type fund.
Kim Soon-sil, head of the retirement pension operation department at Korea Investment & Securities, said, "It is meaningful to achieve results aligned with the purpose of introducing default options and to be able to stabilize and grow our clients' valuable retirement assets," and added, "We will continue to increase client revenues through effective portfolio management and thorough risk management."
