Samjong KPMG will launch an artificial intelligence (AI)-based 'smart information protection disclosure automation platform' on the 14th, it noted on the 12th. This platform automates the classification of costs related to information technology and information protection, which consumes the most time among corporations' information protection disclosure tasks, as well as labor cost estimation using AI technology.
In South Korea, among the designated and reported corporations for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), 671 corporations with sales of over 300 billion won or an average daily number of users over 1 million in information and communication services (as of 2025) fall under the obligation for information protection disclosure. These corporations must disclose their investments and personnel status in information protection each year. They have invested considerable time and personnel in accurately classifying items related to information protection from extensive accounting ledgers and estimating personnel costs.
The automation platform developed by Samjong KPMG has applied AI-based keyword classification technology to automate complex tasks. It automatically identifies items related to information protection from accounting data and quickly extracts and processes the information needed for labor cost estimation. Samjong expects that this will reduce the time required for preparing information protection disclosures by up to 90% compared to the existing process. For large corporations, data classification tasks that previously took weeks could be reduced to within a day, and the possibility of human error is also greatly reduced, improving the accuracy of disclosure data.
Cost savings are also expected. Samjong believes that this platform can significantly reduce the time and expense spent on disclosure tasks and plans to offer a subscription-based service as software as a service (SaaS) for corporations to use independently in the future.
