Global fund Orbis Investment Management disclosed on the 25th that it holds 5.23% of the equity in Hanwha Vision. The fund's assets under management amount to $400 billion (approximately 56 trillion won).
Orbis, which has held shares in Hanwha Vision since before, reported its equity stake exceeding 5% on the 18th through on-market acquisition, resulting in the disclosure of its shareholding status on this day.
Orbis stated that its holding purpose is "simple investment." Unlike "management participation" or "general investment," this means it intends to exercise only basic shareholder rights. This is interpreted as an investment aimed at dividends and capital gains.
Founded in 1989, Orbis manages approximately $400 billion in assets and has offices in 10 locations around the world. In Korea, it has invested in Hyundai Elevator, Korea Investment Holdings, Kiwoom Securities, and Hanwha Aerospace.
