Toss (operated by Viva Republica, hereinafter referred to as Toss) achieved its first annual profit and maximum revenue since its founding.
On the 28th, Toss announced that its consolidated revenue last year reached an all-time high of 1.9556 trillion won, a 42.7% increase from the previous year. Operating profit was 90.7 billion won, and net profit was 21.3 billion won, marking a return to profitability. This is the first profit since the launch of the Toss application in 2015.
Toss continued to incur losses after its establishment, but saw consecutive quarterly profits starting from the third quarter of last year. Toss explained that as of the end of last year, the monthly active user count (MAU) for the app reached 24.8 million, which positively impacted the overall expansion of services such as simple payments, commerce, and advertising.
Alongside Toss's main services, the balanced growth of subsidiaries including ▲ Toss Securities ▲ Toss Payments ▲ Toss Income ▲ Toss Insurance stood out. Toss stated that under the 'super app' strategy, it continues to introduce competitive services in each institutional sector while enhancing synergy among its affiliates.
Lee Seung-geun, CEO of Toss, noted, "This achievement, reached 10 years after the launch of the Toss app, shows that Toss's growth strategy is establishing itself as a stable business model," adding, "We will continue to strengthen both profitability and growth through user-centered service innovation and platform structure enhancement."
