The financial sector is consecutively providing relief donations to assist local residents who have suffered significant damage due to the large forest fires that recently occurred in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and Uiseong, Gyeongbuk. Recently, KB Financial Group donated 1 billion won to support rapid recovery efforts. Through its pre-established 'disaster response system,' the group has also begun providing emergency relief kits (blankets, hygiene supplies, and medications) and meal truck support.

A financial support program for disaster victims will also be implemented. KB Kookmin Bank will support up to 20 million won for individuals and up to 5 billion won in working capital loans to corporations with a preferred interest rate of 1%. KB Insurance and KB Kookmin Card will also provide deferments for insurance premium payments and credit card payment due dates.

Shinhan Financial Group is establishing a fund of 1 billion won and will implement comprehensive financial support. It plans to carry out emergency support projects for fire-fighting personnel and public officials who died or were injured during the firefighting process. The group plans to provide financial assistance so that the families of those who died in the line of duty can continue their livelihoods.

For the injured, support will focus on medical expenses for severe trauma, such as burns, as well as tailored support for psychological and physical recovery. Shinhan Bank will provide new credit support of up to 500 million won for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, as well as extensions and deferments of repayment due dates, and a special preferential interest rate of up to 1.5% for new loans or extensions. There are plans to offer a maximum interest rate preference of 1.5% for new or existing personal loan customers.

Dunamu has prepared a total of 1 billion won in donations to be delivered to the Korean Red Cross. The funds contributed by Dunamu to the Korean Red Cross will be used for ▲grief support and psychological counseling for the families of firefighters and public officials who died during firefighting efforts ▲counseling support for disaster victims and firefighters who experienced psychological trauma from the disaster ▲and emergency support for disaster victims, including living expenses, medical care, and housing.

Additionally, Dunamu plans to promote various support measures for local residents as well as firefighters and public officials involved in firefighting operations to overcome the damage and return to their daily lives, including covering medical expenses for severe trauma and providing support for physical and mental recovery. The organization also plans to contribute to building infrastructure for prevention and response, such as shelters, meal sites, relief supplies, fire retardant materials, and recovery vehicles, in preparation for potential future disasters.
