Koscom announced on the 25th that it has upgraded the network infrastructure of the dedicated communication network 'StockNet' for financial investment operations, including the spot and derivatives market order and quotation networks.

StockNet is a dedicated communication line for financial investment operations that connects the Korea Exchange, Korea Financial Investment Association, securities and futures companies, institutional investors, and related organizations. It is considered a core network infrastructure of the capital market that supports order and execution operations as well as pricing information in the capital market's spot and derivatives markets and provides a securities related organization interconnection network.

Through this measure, the communication speed of the order and pricing networks has improved by more than 80% compared to the previous level, and the network performance and service reliability have been enhanced.

In particular, the communication access capacity of the pricing network has increased tenfold, and the number of services has more than doubled. Koscom explained that with this upgrade, it will be able to smoothly handle increased pricing data due to the launch of alternative exchanges and nighttime trading of derivatives.

Meanwhile, Koscom plans to gradually enhance the core network infrastructure connecting Yeouido and Busan by December this year. Koscom's high-speed optical network between Yeouido and Busan is a necessary network infrastructure for operating data communication services between the main centers of financial companies, disaster recovery centers, and branches within StockNet.

Hyun Jeong-hoon, head of the IT infrastructure business division, noted, "Once the enhancement of the network infrastructure between Yeouido and Busan is completed, the maximum capacity per line can be expanded tenfold from the existing 10 Gbps to 100 Gbps," adding that it can meet the high-capacity line service demands of clients including securities and futures companies as well as asset management firms.
