On the 24th, the KOSPI started lower.

According to the Korea Exchange, the KOSPI index opened at 2636.43 and as of 9:02 a.m., it recorded a decrease of 12.23 points (0.46%) to 2630.90 compared to the previous trading day.

In the early session, the weakness in the semiconductor sector, including SK hynix and Samsung Electronics, is leading to a drop in the index. SK hynix is down 2.09%, while Samsung Electronics has fallen 1.30%.

The decline in Micron Technology's stock price, known as a barometer for memory semiconductors, was a contributing factor. On the 21st (Eastern Time), Micron's stock price fell 8% compared to the previous transaction.

iM Securities noted, "Recently, the net buying trend by foreigners in the electric and electronic sector has been noticeable, but with Micron's sharp stock price drop, whether foreigners will turn to net selling is crucial."

In terms of trading trends by investor type in the stock market, foreigners are currently net selling 38.8 billion won in the early session. Institutions are also net selling 35.3 billion won. Only individuals are net buying 72.9 billion won.

At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is also down, showing a decrease of 0.26 points (0.04%) to 719.15. Foreigners and institutions are net selling 27.3 billion won and 13.1 billion won, respectively.

In the KOSDAQ market, among the top market capitalization stocks, eco-friendly battery stocks such as Ecopro BM and Ecopro are weak, while biotech stocks such as Alteogen, HLB, and Sam Chun Dang Pharm show strength.

Meanwhile, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate is currently at 1467.00 won, up 0.30 won (0.02%) from the previous trading day.
