Tishman Speyer, a global real estate investment management firm managing the real estate investment assets of the National Pension Service, has opened an office in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, where the National Pension Fund Management headquarters is located.
The National Pension Service said that an opening ceremony for the Tishman Speyer Jeonju office was held on the afternoon of the 24th in Munchang-dong, Jeonju. Attending the event were Kim Tae-hyun, chairperson of the National Pension Service, Rob Speyer, chief executive officer (CEO) of Tishman Speyer, and Fred Waldeck, global capital markets head.
Tishman Speyer, which has a history of over 100 years, is a global real estate investment, development, and management company based in 37 cities across 11 countries as of the end of last year. It manages assets totaling $65 billion (approximately 95.368 trillion won) with a team of 1,200 professionals. The assets of the National Pension Service have been managed on a delegated basis since 2011.
In the future, the Tishman Speyer Jeonju office plans to explore domestic and international real estate investment opportunities through localized services, as well as provide capital market analysis and advisory services. Rob Speyer, CEO, noted, "It is an honor to open the Jeonju office and to contribute to the stable management of the fund while uncovering global investment opportunities together with the National Pension Service."
Chairperson Kim Tae-hyun said, "I am glad to see the promise fulfilled to open an office in Jeonju following the opening of the San Francisco office in September last year to strengthen partnerships with the National Pension Service," adding, "I hope to further cooperate closely with the fund based on the trust built over the past 14 years and contribute to the development of the local community."
Previously, among global custodial banks and asset management firms, a total of six firms, including State Street Bank (SSBT), BNY Mellon Bank, Franklin Templeton, BNY Mellon Asset Management Group, and Blackstone, established a base in Jeonju to collaborate with the National Pension Service.
