LS SECURITIES held its 26th regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors on the 21st at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, and approved the reappointment of CEO Kim Won-kyu. Kim, who has served as the CEO of eBEST Investment & Securities (now LS SECURITIES) since 2019, successfully reappointed after his term was renewed in 2022.
Gu Dong-hwi, CEO of LS MnM, was appointed as a non-executive director of LS SECURITIES. Gu will participate in decision-making as a registered executive and serve as a link to LS Group. Gu is the eldest son of Ku Ja-yul, chairman of the LS board.
Additionally, Kim Joo-hyung, former head of the LG Management Development Institute, and So Byeong-cheol, chairman of the social contribution committee and attorney at Kim & Chang, were appointed as new outside directors, while Jung Gap-jae was reappointed as an outside director.
LS SECURITIES newly appointed outside director Kim Joo-hyung as the chair of the board to strengthen the board's independence and management transparency. It also expanded the authority for directors other than the CEO to convene board meetings and clarified the matters for board resolutions.
LS SECURITIES established an internal control committee within the board pursuant to the amendment of the Financial Governance Act. The internal control committee will consist solely of outside directors and plans to independently establish an internal control system.
