Korea Exchange noted on the 13th that it participated in the 'FIA International Derivatives Conference' held in Boca Raton, USA, to promote key initiatives aimed at enhancing the value of Korea's derivatives market to global institutions.
The Futures Industry Association (FIA) hosts this event every March, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, attended by over 2,000 high-level officials from global exchanges, regulatory agencies, and the industry.
Korea Exchange conducted relay interviews with executives from major investment institutions, including Jan Booms, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Optiver Group, the world's largest market maker. During the interviews, they requested cooperation for active participation in transactions to support the early establishment of the nighttime trading of the derivatives market scheduled to begin in June.
They also explored collaboration options regarding the listing of Korea-based derivatives through a meeting with Jennifer Ilkyu, CEO of ICE Futures US, one of the largest derivatives exchanges in the U.S.
Lee Kyung-sik, head of the derivatives market division at Korea Exchange, said, 'This year marks the 20th anniversary of the exchange's Busan headquarters, and we plan to promote a global conference in Busan in conjunction with FIA, driving growth and development in Korea's derivatives market through proactive global marketing.'
