Shinhan Card and Samsung Card have suspended payments for Homeplus gift certificates that applied for corporate rehabilitation procedures to prevent customer damage.
According to the card industry on the 12th, Shinhan and Samsung Card have recently stopped authorizing payments for the purchase and recharge of Homeplus gift certificates. Payments for Homeplus gift certificates are possible through card issuers other than these card companies. However, it is reported that other card companies are also considering suspending payments.
Earlier, Shilla Duty Free, CJ Foodville, and Everland blocked the use of Homeplus gift certificates as Homeplus applied for corporate rehabilitation procedures. Homeplus gift certificates are trade receivables, and repayment in full is possible regardless of the corporate rehabilitation procedure. However, repayments are made after court approval, so there is a possibility of payment delays.
Homeplus plans to establish a detailed payment plan regarding delays in payment to vendors and convey it to each partner company by the 14th.
