The education services corporation i-Scream media recorded strong earnings and hit the price ceiling in after-hours trading following the market close on the 12th.
i-Scream media stocks traded at 15,180 won in after-hours transaction at 4:50 p.m. that day, jumping 10% (1,380 won) compared to the regular market closing price of 13,800 won. The upper limit for price fluctuations in after-hours transaction is 10% compared to the regular market closing price.
i-Scream media disclosed last year’s performance after the regular market closed that day, reporting separate sales of 76.3 billion won and operating profit of 39.7 billion won for the fourth quarter (October to December). The operating profit margin (operating profit ÷ sales) was 52%. Compared to the third quarter (July to September) last year, which recorded sales of 14.9 billion won and an operating loss of 4.9 billion won, the performance improved.
i-Scream media explained the reason for the performance fluctuation, noting that “sales of new subjects increased following the approval of the 2022 revised curriculum textbooks, and the growth of commerce.”
i-Scream media also announced a settlement of account dividend of 738 won per share. The dividend yield based on the stock price on the dividend record date (Dec. 31, 2024) is about 6%.
i-Scream media was listed on the Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (KOSDAQ) market at the end of August last year. Although it set the public offering price at the lower end of the desired range (32,000 to 42,000 won) at 32,000 won, it has not exceeded the public offering price since its listing. Controversy over overvaluation persisted, and concerns also arose regarding the overhang involving major shareholders.
i-Scream media operates the education platform "i-Scream S," used in most elementary school classrooms nationwide. In addition, it is engaged in various businesses including ▲textbooks ▲online training for teachers ▲education product e-commerce ▲notification applications ▲education content archives.
