Shinhan Investment Corp. noted that it invested $9.3 million (about 13.5 billion won) in the Series D funding conducted by the U.S. high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) cloud corporation Lambda on the 4th.
Lambda is the second largest independent AI cloud corporation in the U.S. It is one of the companies that receives the most NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) globally. Lambda provides AI cloud services based on NVIDIA GPU models. It also supports developers in building AI models and conducting research and development (R&D) more quickly.
Lambda attracted a total investment of $480 million (about 701.1 billion won) in this Series D round co-organized by Andra Capital and SGW. Investors included NVIDIA, Supermicro, Pegatron, and Wistron, in addition to Shinhan Investment Corp.
Shinhan Investment Corp. previously invested in the Australian electrolysis corporation Hysata and the U.S. smart factory corporation Bright Machines for data center servers in collaboration with domestic conglomerates last year.
